Sausage & Peppers

Tonight's easy dinner was Italian sausage and peppers. It's very quick and easy for those "on-the-go" nights. The boys like theirs on a hoagie roll with a slice of provolone cheese; but the bread isn't necessary. My sister-in-law from New York told me about adding Worcestershire sauce which makes all the difference in the world. The smell is wonderful.

Sausage & Peppers
  • Italian sausage (sweet or hot)
  • onion, sliced
  • red, yellow and orange bell peppers, sliced (or whichever ones you like--we don't like green)
  • 2 garlic cloves, diced
  • pinch or two of Herbes de Provence
  • couple of T Worcestershire sauce (or more if you like--we like a lot)
  • T oil

In large skillet, cook and brown sausage. Remove and drain grease if any. Add oil to skillet and then onion and garlic. Cook until translucent. Add peppers and cook until desired doneness. Add herbes and stir until mixed well. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and cooked sausage. Cover and cook a couple of minutes longer. Serve with or without bread.
