Monday's Sunday
It has seemed like Sunday all day. I guess because the hub was here with us, it seemed like the weekend. (P.S. This is Abby everyday.)
I went out and got two boxes off at the post office. Not my swap though. That one is still in the making for Peggy. All I will say is instead of the Goddess Swap, it has kind of materialized into a "Queen Swap." I hope she doesn't mind. It's just taken on a life of itself. These swaps normally do. You can have something in mind and then one item will take the whole process in another direction. Peggy is way too organized and has already sent mine. Geesh, makes the rest of us look bad! Anyway, her stuff is sitting on the guest bed with one item I'm in search of. Dun dun dun . . .
The teenager went out today and got his summer reading books. Guess it's time to get that going. School starts back in mid-August. The hub then took him out to drive his stick shift--The Road Warrior. The hub's car is an old VW Jetta and it looks like it's been through battles. It thrives on dirt, or so the hub says. Anyway, this is the teenager's car-to-be. But, from what I heard from both of them, it may not turn out that way. He (the teenager) has no patience whatsoever. And he doesn't get it from me, mind you! He just gives up when something doesn't come easy. We'll see how far it goes. (He did the same thing with a bicycle. Refuses to ride one! Yet, this is the same guy who will roller blade, water ski and snow board!) I'm afraid all the money he has saved may just be going to a "first" car. He should just learn a stick; it would be a lot cheaper! But there's no telling him anything. You know what I mean?
The kid started his math tutoring (free at the middle school) today. He has three hours a day for two weeks. That should get the ol' brain working again. Poor guy. He's the one who has to work double hard to get through whereas the older version finds school easy--but is extremely lazy. The two couldn't be more different.
Our buddy Fred came over and we just ordered pizza in. I had bought a loaf of blueberry pound cake at one of our bakeries this afternoon so we had that with fresh pineapple for dessert. Almost bed time now. I think the hub is already passed out! He'll be a hurtin' gator come tomorrow morning when he has to get up and go to work. Yuck.

Oh the expense of teenagers!
Wow,,you sure racked up on the souvenirs Rosa! Love all the of the lovely stationary items and the tunic,,,so pretty. Lucky you! Glad your enjoying the hub being home!
I wonder why some of us fight to the end and others give up easily. I always tend to get discouraged and quit--which is not a good trait to have.
Ohhhhhhhhh cake! I'm on a diet and that looks SO appealing!
:O)
Poor kid - math tutoring! I struggled w/ math too. Hope he sails through and manages to hae some fun. As for the expense of teenagers - don't get me started! :) Tara xo
