Nature
I have two birds' nests this year. I was a tad late in putting my winter wreath away; and low and behold, a month ago, the little wrens began building their nests. Every time I opened the door, the poor little thing would fly away; and so I just moved it over and hung it to the side of the door. She seems happy just the same there. It's so much fun to watch them build. One stands guard while the other flies in and out bringing materials to build the nest with. I think it's finished now as there's not too much action any more.
On the other hand, on my side door, another wren was making her nest in the basket on the screen door. Again, each time the door was opened, she was quite perturbed, as should be! I wouldn't want someone moving my "nest" around while I was trying to build it! And, so I moved the basket over to a wall on the porch. Unfortunately, I haven't seen hide nor hair feather of her since. Today, I moved it over to the side of the door, so maybe she can find it?? I don't know. I feel so bad after all her hard work. I hope I haven't disrupted nature too much! Oy!
Another piece of nature I found last week at the butcher's.....
I absolutely hate to cut it and cook it!!

What a delight to have little birds so near the house. When they leave, you must save the nests as part of your displays. The potato is wonderful! Thanks for visiting my blog...
You know, there are heart-shaped potatoes being sold on Ebay! Geesh! Funny.
Yes, Ulla, I have several nests saved from last year. I kept them outside all winter to make sure there were no kritters left that I might bring inside. Don't need any more kritters!!
