I'm Nesting

You'd think I was either pregnant (I'm not, thank you very much) or it was fall. I've been in this organizing mode. Dunno why. It's really not like me. haha.

This is me. It looks like this 95% of the time. I can clean it up, and it still catches everything in about a week's time. I've been told, everyone has to have a catch all. Guess this is it.

Today, I had to do some grocery shopping and I went to Costco. I found this neat little rolling organizer for my art stuff. And so, this:

Turned to this:
Oh, and just FYI, the desk looks as messy as it did in the pic above. I didn't even touch it! I did, however, have to clean my freezer out. It had so much old junk that needed throwing away in there; and since tonight it trash night, I figured I could get rid of any old meats without worry about it stinking. Yahoo. Now I only need to clean out the other two freezers, and I'll be good to go! (I kind of feel like Peggy! That woman does more in a day than I do in an entire month!!)

This is how I repaid myself for being so good today. This is another one of my French cups. I sat (actually I stood) and enjoyed a nice cup of tea and marveled over my supplies in one area of the house.

I told you last Friday that I took mom to our favorite thrift store (kind of like an estate sale under one roof). She found a cute shirt; and I found these cute little cottage chairs. I told the woman it was for our "beach" house and she asked where it was. I told her we didn't have one, and she giggled. She said "well, my husband bought me a saddle once and I didn't have a horse." I asked her if she finally got one, and she did. So this is a good sign of nice things to come, I'm hoping. I put them outside to air out. They came from a lake house and had been sitting for a while. Aren't they adorable. I love how the cushions were made. And I also love the different fabric on them. I got them for a bargain. I was so excited!! Now I just have to find a little cottage to put them in!

I also saw this hat which reminded me of Ulla's millinery class. It was beautiful in its simplicity. Isn't it sweet? I don't' wear hats so I left it for someone else to enjoy.

That does look like an Ulla hat! Wow! I wonder what vintage it is?
Those chairs are charming and cottagey. You were lucky to find 4 of them. They remind me of ladies in dresses sitting there!
I wish some of your nesting would rub off on me....I still have tons of organizing to do. Painting too.

What a motivational little post!!! I finally cleaned the top of my stove, and that took forever. I had to rest after that. Google Louise Green Hats, Rosa. My favorite fantasy.

Lovely little chairs.Even if you never have a cottage you can pretend or you can send them to me because our little house is only a cottage and they would fit in very nicely.

Ah, hats are one of the joys of life! But good for you for getting organized. And those chairs are adorable! I love how you're planning ahead in such a positive manner! I've been buying things for the last five years for the "house" we have yet to find. Meanwhile the apartment is increasingly cluttered and the cave is filling up. Sigh. But who can resist a bargain? :)

Those I think are the cutest beachy chairs I've seen in a long time.

The kind of chairs that the normal person might just walk right by...but we then are not normal.
They had their heyday and now you brought them back into circulation.

Thanks for all your kind comments.

I do enjoy your posts and your humor i.e. your pics of your "organized desk"

It is so nice to see a cluttered corner! All this perfection in people's homes is making me feel inferior ;-) Tho I am an organizer by nature, my home isn't in tip top shape.
Looks like you have a terrific thrift store near you. Enjoy the chairs.
