All Women and Children Off the Streets!

Warning!! The teenager has his license! Yahoo. He passed his driving test, of course. Poor kid was so terrified, I had him driving all morning to get the nerves out. The good thing is his car is in the shop getting tuned up to MY standards, hehe. I think it's good he has to wait another day to drive on his own. He's been through the ringer (as far as teenagers go) so he needs a day to get the adenalin out of his system.

Everyone at the Franklin DMV was so nice!!! OMG! And the things they are dealing with would give one cause to be cranky (unlike the ones yesterday who had NO excuse!). These poor employees are literally working out of a trailer with no air conditioning and only fans blowing (and you know how hot it's been). There were about four employees to over 100 waiting people in there. They were gracious and courteous and smiled and laughed with everyone else. Yesterday, you could have cut the tension in Columbia with a knife! What a total difference. I thanked them profusely for being so sweet under such harsh conditions. You see, there is always three nice people to every one nasty one (my personal calculations). I need to remind myself of that. Sorry for my conniption yesterday! Geesh. But, it really wasn't necessary how they treated us.

Thanks to all for your thoughts and prayers coming this way to the teen. It worked! Now, I'll probalby never see him again until he needs something. Oh well, such is life. I remember those days!

Congrats to your son! Am so glad it all worked out, after the drama of the previous office. What a relief!

congrats to the son and watch out for those gray hairs. I got most of mine when the girls got their license and hit the roads. LOL

Well FINALLY Blogger is letting me see your blog!! For the last two days, all I could see was your background, no posts! I've just now caught up on your last few posts I've missed...congrats to your son on getting his driver's license:-) Brings back a lot of memories of when my boys got theirs! Nice car he got himself too! He'll love the independance of being able to take off on his own!! He's done very well! HUGS

Whoo hoo! Congratulations to the teen and a great big hug to his mom!
I'm so glad that things went better today. I actually found myself thinking about him at different times throughout the day and wishing him well.
This blogging thing...so interesting how we come to really care about one another. I'll head over to Peggy's now.

All my congratulations go to your son and my compassion to the "scared mom" ;-)wyzdegw!!! That marks a turn in everybody's life, but I guess that's how things go in life...

I too kept hoping that he would pass the test without any problem. It seems that our thoughts had positive effects...

Now it begins--my oldest son wrecked 3 cars before it was all over. I, myself, a marvelous driver, almost had a wreck on the very day I received my driver's license at age 16 in Prescott, Az. Those were the days.

Congratulations to No 1 Son. School exams never worried me but the driving test terrified me. I failed twice before I passed on my third attempt. In the UK we have both a theoretical test and a practical test. What is involved in a US test?
