Awwww, Beautiful
We arrived safely and with a bang--of sorts. The guys finally found a cart to lug all our stuff up. (Some people have to hog two at a time--geesh--and watch us struggle with everything......) I should know better than letting them "pack" anything. They get upstairs and knock on the door, I open it and the hub proceeds to push the cart (really hard) over the threshold. I'm standing there as the two two-gallon apple juices come lunging at me. CRASH! SPLAT! All over me, all over the front door, all over the wall and al over the front hall. Not one broke, but both. Well, I have this "thing" about sticky floors. I had noticed how clean the floor felt when we walked in--well they took care of that! So, I began our first moments here as all mothers do--cleaning. As I'm on the floor trying to get every drop up, the teenager is mouthing off, as usual, somehow it's always my fault. I should have come down and loaded the trolley myself. Well, yes, but why do I have to do everything in order for it to get done right--same ol' same ol'. ha. He begins to push the cart in and "crash!" the jar of jelly comes barreling down--splat! This time it's glass though. (Are we comical or what?) Oh my GAWD!!! Welcome to the beach with boys. And this is exactly what the teenager says: "What do you expect from guys??"
We were treated to a nice fireworks show last night--a wedding on the beach, no doubt. It was so much fun! Gotta love fireworks! Had a good dinner, bbq shrimp more shrimp for the kid and crab legs for the hub. Oh yea, and fried crab legs to start. We had never tried them before, they were ok.
Heading to the beach--waiting on our friends to arrive. Yahoo! Can't wait. Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there!! Enjoy your day!! (The kid came out with some stats this morning that went like this, "Americans spend about $3.00 for dads on Father's Day and about a million dollars on Mother's Day." hehe. I wonder why??? Read first paragraph again if there's any question.

have a wonderful time! We will be beaching it the 4th of july weekend. If I make it that long with these crazy animals.
Aw, that post was so comical; I really had to laugh about the "what do you expect from guys" sentence!!! Sometimes, I also think that we are better off when we do the things alone!!!...
Anyway, I hope that you are having a good time!
Well, they do say behind every great man is a really great woman!
I love your fireworks photos - sounds like you are having a good time.
Love the comical bent of your tale about the trip so far. Really clever. Sounds as though it's a fun time for all!
I always like the line from Miss Piggy (from memory) "behind every great man is a great woman and behind every great woman is a great right hook" *POW* and Kermit is knocked flying.
Still we men have our uses when it comes to cleaning, I notice it is always "*your* cat has cr****d on the carpet".
Really envious of your holiday. Enjoy and have fun. Six days and counting for me. Not sure if Mary will let me take the laptop. Will have to try and find an internet cafe in rural Puglia.
Oh gosh, I have to admit I laughed, but I know I probably wouldn't have if it had happened to me after all the organizing, packing and driving 6 hours it took to get there! It sure does look worth it though. When I was a little girl, those beautiful beaches were the only kind I knew existed. I still think about them! Now the water is icy cold no matter what the time of year. No gorgeous white sand here!
I love fireworks! What a lovely surprise to welcome you to your vacation. Shrimp...yum!
Oh, I hope you have a wonderful time. The last several years we have visited to Gulf Shores, AL and we love but... not this year. So sad. I'm going to bookmark your blog and live vicariously through you. What lovely pictures!!!
Wish I were there with you, except for the sticky floors. I love the beach-one of my favorite things.
