Au Revoir Mes Amis . . .
. . . until we meet again. Sniffle sniffle.
Raphi and Regis have left for the airport. It will be quite lonely here without them. Raphael normally stays here at least a month, if not two; so only having him for less than a week was way too short. It was a joy having Regis here also. I hope they enjoyed us as much as we enjoyed them.
Before they left, we made a quick dash over to the Krispy Kreme's and found they were making them. Raphi (and now Regis) love them--they are unable to get them in France. (I admit, I broke down and had one--only because as we were watching them being made, we were handed one, fresh off the conveyer belt, by the processor! Oh my, it just melted in my mouth! P.S. I am trying to MAJOR diet!) They took a dozen hot with them. I doubt they make it to their first layover though, what do you think? haha.
Yesterday, we headed off to Nashville to walk around. (Forgot my camera--eeeek!) It was a spectacular day--breezy, no humidity and only in the high 70s (f)--not your normal Nashville weather at ALL!! We walked along the river front, hit a few shops (I bought a wind flag for the beach) and then headed off to the Hard Rock Cafe which is right there. I was going to take them to Ted's (as in Turner) which is a fun restaurant selling buffalo burgers and steaks; but they seemed to enjoy Hard Rock as much; so it all worked out well. We then strolled over to the Country Music Hall of Fame where we found out the tour was $16! Ouch. I'm so accustomed to living in DC where all the museums are free, I find it very hard to pay at one of these places. You know me and museums anyway--why pay for misery...hehe. And so, we just went through the gift shop (which is my favorite anyway). I bought some really neat postcards, perhaps for my next postcard swap.
We have been cooking up a storm, a lot of barbecuing. I haven't been posting because we have just been hanging out doing whatever. However, I do have some pics to share at some point. Today, I need to really get my butt in gear to pack for the beach. Aw, summa-time! Don't you just love it?
It's so quiet here with just the kids and I. I miss the guys already. pout.
