Sightseeing in Brussels with the Kid (II)

On the third day in Brussels, the cuz and I decided to sleep in while the men went to see the Atomium. I can't tell you how good that felt. Ooooooof. It was heaven. And since I learned my lesson on the Eiffel Tower (regarding heights), I was more than ready to give this journey up for an extra hour or two in bed.

I do, however, love all the photos the kid took. Fascinating. This structure was built for the 1958 World's Fair. Remember those? We went to the '64 Expo in NYC and the one in '67 on Montreal. Fond, fond memories of both, even though I was so young . I remember my father driving down the wrong side of the road in NYC. And we lived through it. I was 4!

I am loving the angles. Good eye! Photogs run through the blood, I suppose.

Up, up, up we go. Uh, naw thank you.

A glance back down? No sa.

Too high, for sure.

Now, the Manneken Pis? I would have loved to see this little feller in all his tiny glory.

He's from 1618. Go figure. Love him. He's everywhere in Brussels. And the cutest part? They dress him accordingly! You can see some of his previous costumes HERE. Toooooo cute! Elvis' birthday? Hmmmmmm?? He was dressed for the World Cup, whoever was playing that day. Schweet. (And yes, we were in the thick of the English World Cup FEVER!)

The kid snapped this one for me. He always says "Don't mess with Big Momma's babies!"

More Brussels to come. :-P

Two visits in one day, I think I broke a world record! lol Wow, your son took fantastic pictures at the Atomium but like you, I would pass up going up in it...I don't do heights very well either! Ugh! That one shot of the escalator going up is awesome.

How cool that they dress up the Manneken Pis for whatever holiday or occasion there is! hehe Even as Elvis...toooo cute!! xoxo
