Purple Haze

Scratch -n- Sniff here.

Oh, don't you love lilacs? I sure do. I know I have told you all so many times before, but I used lilacs in my bridal bouquet because I love the smell sooooo much and we were married in March, so they were in bloom then. The only problem was that the white ones don't have a smell. Ya think the florist would have told me this before hand. Either way, they were still pretty.

As I've also mentioned umpteen times, these were all rooted from saplings taken from mom's back yard in Arlington, VA, when we first moved here way back when.

They are absolutely precious.

And they smell absolutely divine as you can well imagine.

These little violas are from mom's new place.

Also precious!

But, hey Mother Nature! It's cold outside! Whattup??

Darn! My scratch -n- sniff feature isn't working! Lilacs are one of my favorites, too. When I was a kid my best friend had a lilac bush right outside her bedroom window. I loved spending the night and smelling that luscious scent.

Ah--my scratch-n-sniff IS working. I loved smelling your Lilacs. I love them also, Rosa. AND YES---it is darn cold outside... We had drizzly, damp, cold weather for TWO days now... Brrrrrrr...

Hugs,
Betsy

I've scratched the heck out of my monitor and I still can't smell them....waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! hehe I love lilacs as well and have a lilac tree growing near my computer room window so when they're in bloom I get the most wonderful perfume coming in:-) You're way ahead of us for lilacs blooming, my tree hasn't even started to bud yet! I hadn't realized that white lilacs don't have a smell...learn something new every day!! Love ya! xoxo

You take some beautiful photographs, sister -- you never cease to amaze me. How did you get the lighting on that first viola picture? It looks as if you had an external flash. Oh, I tried the scratch-n-sniff, but I only succeeded in putting a big nose print on my monitor. I may have to plan a trip to the botanical Garden and see their flowers. That place has such a wonderful fragrance in the springtime.
