"The skies are charcoal grey
It's a dreary downtown day
But at the end of my 40 foot leash
Is my little friend Quiche
Quiche La Poodle is her name
And having a good time on a crummy day is our game.
Oh no! Here comes a Great Dane
Drivin' down the lane
Quiche, Quiche, Quiche come back here
Don't leave me
I'll go insane.
How do you like that?
Has anybody seen a dog dyed dark green?
About two inches tall, with a strawberry blond fall;
Sunglasses and a bonnet
and designer jeans with appliques on it?
The dog that brought me so much joy
Left me wallowing in pain
Quiche Lorraine"

Every time I eat quiche, I have to sing along with B52s' Quiche Lorraine. My favorite part, "Has anybody seen, a dog dyed dark green?" It cracks me up! I can see Fred walking a green poodle dog. hehe. Speaking of dyeing . . .
She lives! Yes! I am finally getting over my muck. Went out today and had my hair cut and colored. Oh my. The gray was showing through like all get out. Why is it when you get older and your hair begins turning gray, the natural color turns dark and yucky too? I used to have a nice color to my hair, about the same as you see here, but now it's like dark and mousy. Ew. What is the deal? Look at that white scalp! Time to hit the sun, just a tad, ok?
Since the salon is next to the bakery, I had to pick up two of their quiches for din din. You thought I made them? ha. I'm not that well, for heaven's sake. Of course, I also picked up a few cupcakes. Is there anyone out there that can resist a cupcake?? Honestly? I think not. Luck of da Irish be wit thee.
I have been receiving so many goodies in the mail from everyone. My SIL, MJ, had sent me a beautiful framed photo of my Miss Bev. It is so pretty. I still miss that pretty face.
Then, out of the blue came a package from Lisa. She sent all kinds of goodies. It came at my lowest point of sickness, and I opened the box of chocolates and ate every piece! Right there. Not a thought about it. hehe. The hand-painted plate is going down to the river with us next week. I will display it in the kitchen or in the pink bedroom. I haven't decided yet. And look at the beautiful ATC. Feast your eyes on the lovely vintage hat pin! Thank you Lisa! (Go give her a hug if you have the time.)
Today, Tammy sent a bunny hopping on over to Tennessee. Look at how cute she is with my little pixies! Ok Miss Tammy, think it's time to start getting springy 'round here! She is just adorable. Big ol' KY/TN hugs, my friend!
By buddy Beth sent me the sweetest Jacquie Lawson get well card. It sure did hit the spot yesterday when I felt at my worst. Thank you Bethy.
Things are puttering along with the riverhouse. We're getting closer to choosing a name. I'm thinking about waiting until we get there to make sure the name fits. I'll announce it while we're there and pick up something special from Fairhope for the lucky winner. I've ordered beds that will be delivered five days after we arrive--joy. Where is that air mattress? I have our new phone number, and I'm working on having all the utilities changed over to our name. It's a quaint little town. We have to become members of the energy coop there in order to get our electric turned on. Cute, huh. I'm making lists of all the things I "want" to take down with us this first trip. Whether or not we can "fit" it in is another story. I have to think completely on starting fresh. We even have to buy a refrigerator and washer/dryer when we get there! I don't think they even left the curtains! But you know, I never question a woman's intent on taking items from her home. I have no idea what any of those things mean to her. For instance, my washer and dryer will always come with us until the day they die. It was the last thing my father bought us as a house warming gift. Therefore, they stay with me. As sentimental as one can get to a washer/dryer, that's what they are to me. So if the lady wants to take everything, there must be a good reason for it. It's hard enough leaving a home, who needs to bicker over "items?" Not me. Never have, never will. So, therefore, we have several shopping sprees to Sears, it looks like!
Well, I thinks one of those Irish cupcakes are'a callin' me name!

Oh wow, your postman certainly has been bringing you some wonderful goodies!! Congrats on winning that bunny from Tammy, it's so adorable! Lisa has such a generous soul and her art is just fabulous. I love quiche and those you bought look so yummy...as do the cupcakes!!! I made butter tarts today so I'll be posting the recipe and step by step instructions tomorrow:-) You will have so much fun redecorating the riverhouse and having it the way you want!! xoxo
I love cupcakes. I can't remember the last time I had one. They don't have them here in France-but I can't complain because they sure do sell lots of other stuff which I manage to eat.
Glad you are feeling better! Love everyone of your package surprises and wish I were having dinner with you! Can't wait to see how you turn your riverhouse into a home. It will be beautiful.
What wonderful parcels flew your way!! I Am hungry now!!! I'll take a slice and a cake.. cupcake... :) Oh, the loveable washer and dryer...Isn't it silly what people want to "take outside" and bicker about in homes sales??? Yes, I find that often, as I have a secret agent career...I love shopping sprees at Sears! YAY!
If you haven't already, be sure to go to Julewin's in Fairhope for a sunday dinner. Out of this world and cheap, cheap, cheap. I love that I know a bit of the town. That way I can picture you in it.

I hope you had a wonderful anniversary celebration. You are a special couple.
I hope I am able to post in your blog. I've tried for a few days and so far, I've not been able to. I do hope this post "takes".
Love ya.
Shelley
Glad you're feeling better.
Do what I did...go blonde. It blends with the gray better.
I'm also struggling with moving. What a nightmare!
On the river house...would never go there unless you were there. You should have a week end retreat for the girls.
