Heading Out, Again

I need to leave town like I need another hole in my head, but I'm leaving anyway. The hub has "bidness" down in Scottsdale, AZ. He invited me to a belated birthday weekend away. Who am I to turn down a weekend at a spa? Momma didn't raise no fool. We head out very early tomorrow morning and arrive in AZ by 10 a.m. Gives me plenty of time to hit the spa and the pool! I simply cannot wait! I tell you, after our last jaunt all over Europe, I'm ready to just get a room and vegetate for a whole weekend. I may not even get out of my PJs! Well, only enough to get into a fat suit to sit by the pool! "Excuse me pool boy, would you be so kind as to bring me something cold to drink?" wink wink.

Let me give you my schedule, people. Are you ready? Friday afternoon, I have my Tarrot card reading and then right off to a Reiki Chakra Balancing. How cool is that? I've never had my chakra checked, but after reading up on Ms. Robyn's chakra being out of sorts, I'm sure I'm in need of some major balancing! Saturday, I will be having my special rosacea facial treatment. Yep, Ms. Redface here. (I get a facial, say, about every five years!!) Then on Sunday, before we leave, the hub is scheduled for a message (I can't stand people rubbing my back, so I always opt for a reflexology--I didn't this time, I figured I had enough going on.) While he is having his message, I am having my "holistic" manicure and pedicure. I have been quite lax with my pedicures. I haven't had one since I lectured everyone in the spring about keeping up their feet's appearances! Shame on me. I figure, this one will last through the winter. Other than that, I have brought books to read (brushing up on my Feng Shui for you guys) and magazines to thumb through and a bathing (fat) suit. I haven't been to AZ since I was 17 at which time I stayed with a friend for over a month due to a heart break--of course I had another beau waiting in the wings (in no other than Ft. Bragg, NC, PEGGY!), so the heart was mended quite quickly, mind you. Aw to be young again. (No thank you!) Gee, I do sound like a fluffer nutter; but I promise, I am about as "down home" as you get!

I have been so busy with getting mom's cyst taken care of that I have hardly had time to do much of anything else. I'm talking a whole day there. My birthday took up one day, her doctor visits took up another and here we are at Thursday already! Phew. I am so glad to inform you that her biopsy results are back and there was no sign of cancer whatsoever. It had become infected after all the doctors finished pushing and prodding it all last week. The surgeon lanced it and removed as much gunk she could and now it is healing well, with the help of antibiotics. PTL! I am so thankful that that is behind us! Thank you again for all your well wishes and prayers. We got her hair cut today to celebrate! She likes it short and I tell her she looks like Billy Bob Thornton. hehe. She really doesn't.

I received a wonderful box of goodies from our dear friend Mrs. Staggs yesterday afternoon for my birthday. She is the kindest soul ever. I apologize, but I will have to tease you and just let you know how absolutely wonderful everything was and will post upon my return. Thank you Lena, love ya like a sista!

Oh, and today is the kid's 13th birthday! Duh! I have been running around like a mad woman getting balloons (which I HATE because my brother terrorized me when I was little with them!) and a cake and presents, etc. Even bought the cake. No time to bake today, sorry kid. Not like I didn't know it was coming up! But, phew, I'm tired!!

And so, I'm off, trying to get in as much cleaning as possible before I leave. My bro arrives on Tuesday! Yea!!!

It's now going on 11:30. Just got back from grocery shopping for the gang so they don't "starve" in two days. My last load of laundry is going in the dryer; and I am just about ready to start packing. I tell you, when that alarm goes off at 4 a.m., I'm going to be singing the blues.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!!

Happy birthday to The Kid. Belated happy birthday to you for Monday. Also great news about your Mum. Oddly enough had it been cancer it appears that the older you are the better the prognosis. Both my Mum and Mary's have had radical mastecomies which made me do my research. And it's why we contribute to Cancer Resarch UK and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Have a fun trip and veg out. Which vegetable do you think you will be?

Toodle-pip!

Dang sister sorry I forgot your birthday. Can you find it in your heart to forgive me? I guess you will get back Monday. I'll try giving you a call. I thought mom's thing on her chest was all taken care of. I guess when you told me that it was benign, that was just the biopsy. I sure am glad everything turned out okay. I was kind of worried there for a while. I hope you had a good time in Arizona. Bodey gets down there on Tuesday. I'll have to call down there and say hi to him and everyone else, you included! I can't believe Thanksgiving is here already. That means Christmas is only a month away. And then New Year's. 2007 -- only two more years of Bush.
