The Feast

Finally, I'm putting some pics up of our Thanksgiving feast that my brother slaved over. It was, as always, the best.

He always takes great care in preparing the turkey. Rub a dub dub, one hand in the blub . . .

The stuffing is made from freshly made croutons, Italian sausage and a boat load of fresh herbs. This is before it went into the stove to cook. Of course, he made his own turkey stock also. (We actually had turkey soup tonight with salad and some homemade green goddess dressing! Can you tell I'm in heaven?)

The gravy is made with champagne deglazing the pan. (We drink whatever is left over, of course.)

A little "Mangria" and then off to cutting the corn for corn pudding. This was the first time we made this and it was most delicious.

Cranberry sauce. Is it not beautiful?

The Beaujolais Nouveau was not the best this year, in spite of its cost. The exchange rate just killed us. Think it's time for another batch of "mangria" made with it. The fruit should soften it a tad.

The Bodie Bird, ready to be sliced and eaten.

The aftermath. (Note we had to remove the shelf above the stove. I told them it was TOO low!! GRRrrrrrrrr.) Thank goodness they didn't glue the thing to the hood. It's easily removed by two screws. Phew!

We had fresh chocolates I had ordered from Belgium and my birthday cake (which we had yet to cut) for dessert. YUM!

We were busy today antiquing and running around. The hub has been holding down the fort during the day and keeping the kids busy. We are all having way too much fun. Again, I am so enjoying having them all here. Sniffle.

It's so exciting seeing your new kitchen in the throes of good cooking and undoubtedly good eating. It was christened spendidly.

I love Belgian chocolate! What is the source?
And what a brother you have! His photos are great.

Oh, that's your brother's arm. I was going to say that you are getting very hairy!
