Locks of Love

With a little coaxing, the teenager decided to get his hair cut. With very little coaxing, he decided to donate his hair to Locks of Love, an organization that collects hair to make hair pieces for kids (and adults) who have lost their hair due to medical reasons. I was very proud of him and was ready for the backlash afterwards. (Ahhhhhh, my hair!) One last flip before the cutting begins!

Of course, I had to take pictures. Poor guy. I didn't use the flash though, thus the horrible photos. So solly. I was happy that, even after measuring ten inches (the minimum length to donate), there was still plenty of hair left. Phew! I was also glad it was done in two cuts.

Not so traumatizing. I think.

Then, boom, it was done. No tears or nuthin'. And someone will have some of the lovely curly hair that the teenager and I were fortunate enough to get from mom.

And look how healthy. I told him he looks like a human being again--not that I meant it badly. Lord forbid if I had told him it looked more in style. That wouldn't have gone over well. Even he admitted to it feeling so much better before heading off to work.

Kids. Gotta love 'em.

I hope Mikey doesn't wait until it's ten inches long to get his hair cut. Maybe if he just shaved once in awhile I wouldn;t mind the long locks. And me a child of the "Hair" generation.

Hi Rosa... Your son has a gorgeous head of hair... The girls will love running their fingers through his new curls. That is so neat of him --giving his locks to someone who needs them.
Hugs,
Betsy

Wow. He has great hair. I should be so lucky! But then, you have great hair too so why shouldn't he?

Look at those gorgeous curls....oh to have them! He has beautiful hair!
How fabulous he donated his newly sheared locks!
If mine looked like that short I'd cut my hair!

What a fine young man you've raised there! Not many would even think of donating their hair to Locks of Love. He's got such gorgeous hair and look at those curls...we women spend a fortune to get hair like that! lol xoxo

The Locks of Love program is wonderful. Buddy Budderson grew his hair long once but not nearly long enough for the program. I lurrved it when he went short again although I am a fan of the "somewhat shaggy look". Your guy is a sweetie.

He has fabulous hair -- I love those curls and bet every young woman in his territory will, too! How admirable of him to donate. You did something right in raising this one, my friend!

Good for him for donating it to Locks of LOve!

When I got my hair cut - 13inches - I also donated it there.

Of course, I'm regrowing mine - it's getting there!
