Soup's On
Well the poor hub is down with the muck. We had a fabulous time last night, but by the time we made it home, the intestinal bug hit him. Ew. I'm feeling achy--don't know if it's psychological (probably), but I'm not taking my chances. I went grocery shopping just in case so if I get hit, we're ok to hunker down for the weekend. Chicken noodle soup is on the stove and is smelling mighty fine right about now. My recipe is here, if you remember. This is without fur, so far. Let's hope it stays that way! (Bev almost crawled into the pot one time I made it!)
Like I said, the show was so much fun. The seats were amazing, considering we purchased the last four! I've decided I prefer sitting up in the balcony pews. You can see the entire stage. Brian brought Duane Eddy onstage after his encore. Look here for a short clip of them doing a rendition of Peter Gun. Whenever you see a show in Nashville, you just never know who's going to pop up on stage. It's always a joy to get a nice surprise. The BSO was great, but Brian was in his element. He did some of his Stray Cat classics including Stray Cat Strut (which ran into Mr. Grench song--fun!), Sexy and 17, Fishnet Stockings and Rock this Town. I was boppin', oh yea. Brian did a couple of his singles like Jump an' Wail which were rockin' too. The orchestra was great and the Christmas classics they performed had that rockabilly twist to them which was refreshing to hear about now. The band that opened was a lot of fun. It was a local band called Hillybilly Casino. They rocked the house too and really set the tone for Brian. All in all, it was a fun night out, to say the least. Whenever I go to a show, I wonder why I don't get out more. I love live music. I need to step out of my "box" a little more often, I thinks.
This is our dessert for tonight. I bought it yesterday at The Puffy Muffin. Yum. Perhaps, I'll start with this and end with soup, whatchya think?
Pics of last night's show borrowed from Brian Setzer's site.

Finally catching up AGAIN! lol I can't wait until I can go back to my usual routine and be able to visit all my blogging friends every day!! Sounds like a fun time was had...I've always loved Brian, ever since the Stray Cats became popular...Rock This Town was always my favourite:-) Your soup looks sooo yummy but yup, I would definitely start out with the dessert! hehe Sure hope your hubby feels better soon and that you stay healthy!! Hugs xoxo
That dessert looks scrumpious. I clicked on the picture and immediately thought, "oh please, please, please, I don't want to read that she made this". You see, I can barely make a cookie even using pre-formed frozen cookie dough. LOL
Life's short, eat dessert first!
(not original but it works here!)
:)
I'm glad you had a good time and hope your Hubby gets better...that soup should make him feel lots better by the looks of it...now just give me the chocolate and noone gets hurt!!
:-D
I say forget the soup and just have cake! yummy!!
Glad you had a good time at the concert; sounds like a great show!
Nashville...one of our favorite towns...and I must say we, the DH and me are some of the best two steppers in and around the metropolis.....
missin our chats.
Hope everyone feels better
I'll take BOTH! Hope hubby gets well soon and that you are spared the bug.
I would start with dessert myself but that soup sure does look good.
Glad to hear that you all had a nice time!
I hope that the hub is feeling better and that you have stayed healthy. It's a wonder that the hub isn't sick more often with all of the changing of time zones that he does. I don't know how he does it! The youngest Mr. Staggs has been sick this week too. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I won't catch the "bug"...or at least get everything caught up before I do!
Oh now that looked like a fun concert! How cool! And yes you should get out on the town more. When another good show comes out and if hub is out of town,,lets go to one,,that would be so much fun!
