The hub and I are going out tonight. Woohooo. We're off to see the Brian Setzer Orchestra. I love going to the Ryman Auditorium. It's the original housing for the Grand Ol' Opry many years ago. They have since moved to a huge auditorium further outside Nashville; but thank God they saved the Ryman for other music venues. The acoustics are amazing. It was originally built in 1892 as a church. The old pews were kept in place when the GOO took over, even the original wooden floors are still there. Today, the sound of the audience interacting with the sounds coming from the stage is beautiful--whether it be clapping, stomping or singing. It all generates a wonderful sound that I have not heard anywhere else.
BSO is performing their Christmas classics ala Brian style. I can't wait to do a little boogying. I went to see the Stray Cats back in the early 80s. Their rockabilly was so refreshing for the time. They had their own sound, most definitely. (I still have my old T-shirt! hehe.) I remember thinking "There is no way they are going to sound good live unless they hire more pieces to help them out." Boy was I wrong. I was in awe of how great they were with only three simple instruments--guitar, stand-up base and drums. (Too bad I was stalked by an ex-boyfriend at the show. . . grrrrrr . . . or was that a Billy Idol show? Kinda fuzzy these days, ya know) Needless to say, Brian is an awesome guitarist. That boy can boogy!
Well, I have to run and get dressed. As you know, I don't "get out" much. This may take a while. hehe. Which boots to wear. . . hmmmm. Will probably settle for something else since I'm wearing a skirt. But who knows! Meeee-owwww (from the old Stray Cat days).

I grew up watching he Grand Ol'Oprey with my grandmother and other family members on television. Back in the days of Minnie Pearl and The Carter Family. I have good memories of Ryman Auditorium from those times. I'm glad it's still there.
YeeeeHawww! Those boots would bring tears to the eyes of any Texas cowgirl too. Seems both state have their country music. Hope you have a good time.
I want to go to that concert too!!!!!!! Oh wow, I just love your cowboy boots...that's something I've never owned! And I love country music..so I should have cowboy boots, right??? hehe
I remember that auditorium and what fun it is to go out for an evening of music in Nashville. Glad you had a great time. And sorry about the hub's bug. Sounds like the soup will be a good cure-all (if that doesn't work, maybe a little dessert with tea and TLC?) :)
