'Tis the Season

I found this bell and thought about putting it in my stocking and later parking it on my bedside for when I needed something. Not that anyone would have paid heed to my calls. Since I have yet to bring the stockings up from the basement (actually anything up from the basement), the bell sat in the kitchen. I found that each time I passed, I rang it--for an angel's sake. I thought I would pass the word on and made a little sign. I have to say, there are a lot of angels getting their wings by way of our bell! Good stuff.

This is one of the amaryllis I found at Boxwood in Atlanta. Lovely.

Paper Source--Atlanta.

The kid peeking out from a little tree -- again Boxwood in Atlanta.

I found this wonderful cookie jar last January in DC while visiting my brother when he was sick. The other brutha shipped it home to me. I just about sliced my finger off as the star had fallen off and left a straight edge as sharp as a razor. Loverly. It has since been glued back on (the star, not the finger).

A sweet present from the hub's brother in NY. Junior's is the best! Rugulach! Yum. (Was glad it wasn't a cheesecake--ew.)

I found these two fellows at Frontgate in Atlanta. They so reminded me of my father, I had to have them. The twinkly blue eyes. The ski nose (as a friend lovingly named him). The mustache (he didn't have a beard). Sniffle. I miss his lovely blue eyes the most.

A precious gift from Natalie Sarabella.

A beautiful poinsettia.

A scrumptious evergreen scented candle.

And the prettiest tree ever (sans ornaments except one). With kitties sleeping nearby.

Does it get any better? Is life grand or what? Oh yes, indeed it is.

I do believe it's creeping in. The spirit I mean. It's beginning to look a lot like...well, you know.

I thought I was going to do so much more decorating and all this year. Instead, I've the less than I ever have, for the same reasons as you. It feels a bit overwhelming for some reason. I usually love to do it. I think, it's going to be a very quiet Christmas for us, and then, right after we have to move my son up to his new place. So, I'm keeping it pretty simple, and that's ok. We have so much snow! You wouldn't believe it. It's so pretty, and makes up for not doing so much decorating. Simple is good too. Your tree is so beautiful!

You may not have everything up from your basement but what you do have out is lovely. Love the cookie jar.

Oh, how very beautiful! I especially love the bell! But that cookie jar is wonderful and the glittery words -- fabulous.

I love that your Santas remind you of your dad. Sometimes things like that just click -- the twinkle in the eye? The twist of the mouth? Who knows -- they just work.

Merry Christmas, my dear friend. I'll try to check in over the holiday as dial-up allows!

oh look how you have decorated everything so pretty! i love the simple tree, i really do. just festive as can be! and rugulach by the gallon jar!? i would burst after eating the entire thing. i will take your word that it is scrumptious.. but the santa cookie jar...? i clicked on his image and he looks like he has a tummy ache... do you think perhaps he swallowed a wee bit of that glass shard that attacked you? take a closer look at his smile it looks like a frowny kind of smile.

happy christmas rosa! i finished all my decorating too and the weather added the finishing touch of 2 feet of snow today!!!

XO

p.s joe got home after midnight... 11 hours late but home safe and sound. phew we both got them back in one piece :)
