i Heart

A very sweet thank-you surprise, indeed.

Our nephew visited a few weeks' back; and we received the sweeetest thank you notes and drawings and chocolates and ivy and love and . . . .

He simply makes my heart swell.

I've just about lost my boys as they begin to fly the coop. Sniffle.

But they're never far. The teenager is here for a long weekend visit from DC. Needless to say, we've been figuring out ways to get ALL that yummy chocolate into our growing bellies.

It's been wonderful having him home with us.

I have to admit, I miss the sound of rambunctious boys tearing through the house.

Miss ya, Big D. All the dinosaurs have been MIA since you left. It's too quiet.

Our house has had a swinging door for a few years. Q gone, Q back, Q gone again. Then Kris gone, Kris back and still here for a while. Not only is the human population at three, our "pup"ulation is now two. When Kris is gone again, I'll be able to comfort myself that I know what the empty house is like. If g-babies ever arrive, the cycle will start all over again. Aren't family cycles wonderful?

Awww! Big D still tells me every day that Big Foot lives with you now. And what's the first thing he tells Daddy when he comes home from his long trip? All about visiting you guys! He didn't forget a thing. :) Big love to you guys!

So sweet! A wonderful gift.

I can imagine that it is not easy when the kids leave home...

Cheers,
