Counting Crows at The Ryman

So happy to see the Counting Crows back. Adam looks great. Heart the hair. I just want to scrunch it!

We're normally not in Nashville in the summer months. I believe this is the first time I have been to the Ryman where the sun is still shining through the old church windows. (Thought I had the stained glass windows in my viewfinder--obviously not--a photographer's angst.)

Toad the Wet Sprocket opened for the Counting Crows. They were great!

Adam came out chillz. Just sat down and took it in for a moment.

This was my first, and hopefully not my last, time seeing them live.  What a beautiful soul, that Adam is.

 Texting? Really, woman?

Hugs, all around.

Favorite Words

I found this old sheet of words I made to use in some piece of artwork way back when.
These are a few of my favorite words.

New Decor

I've been finding all kinds of bumper stickers since I've been sorting out the place. Ollie was my hippie car and she was full of my schtick-ers. That is, until the kid took her over. Ollie had to get cleaned up; and then I had nowhere to put my stickers. Of course, that never stopped me from continuing to collect them. Hmmmm. H word.

They're just one of those things I can't seem to part with {hoarder}. Bite your tongue. I've had these two old chairs from a yard sale way back in my Virginny days--a long time ago. They've looked SO plain, lately! tehe

Before I placed the first one (Elizabeth Cook), I asked my brother Jim if he thought yay or nay. He was all yay.

Eclectic.
Yes.

Love.

Summer Color

I do believe that summer has arrived. My gnomey says so.

And a perfect day for a new Jack White album, Lazaretto, to arrive in the mail.

Some of the songs from the new album were introduced on Record Day.

The kid and I were fortunate enough to snag tickets. Absolutely unbelievable seeing JW in the Blue Room at Third Man. There was a whole lotta yellow happening that day.

And blue, too. "Whoa, girl {bitch}. Back it on up." He was tipping his hat to me. Yes. He. Was. Jk.
As close as I'll be to Jack. Tiz ok.

And the booty from TMR on Record Day.
And now the album is released. And I'm liken' it.

Ah, summatime. It's good for what ails ya.

What's New, Pussycat?

Mr. Tom Jones, in da house!

And at the Ryman. Dude looking sharp in his velvet, paisley jacket.

Way back in the TJ heyday, I babysat my niece and nephew while my brother and SIL, Mary Jane, went off to see Tom Jones. Several times.  He still has the voice and the looks; and he can still bust a sexy hip gyration. Just sayin'.

 Another great Nashville date night.
Pussycat, pussycat, I love you. Yes I do.

The Beach (2013)

Ahhhh, The Del. There's not a prettier hotel.

We try and visit each time we're in the area. It just so happened that I needed some good  ol' salt air when I felt my hefty cold coming on; and this is where we ended up. Thought that perhaps a little cosmo would cure all. (It didn't.)

The day before, we tootled around to La Jolla, another fave spot. What a cute shot of poppa teaching his daughter to surf. She had waited patiently until he came out of the water and then ran to him. It was a precious sight.

Bella B.

Since the kids have left the roost, Bella has become my muse. Poor thing.

There's no more "catching up" here. Suppose I will just continue forward and throw in this and that from the past year. What else is a girl to do?

Yes, we finally made it to the "Happiest Place on Earth." Hmmmm. Depends on who you're asking. Since kids, we have avoided such places with a passion. The thought of running around with kids in a place with a million kids doesn't sound like a whole lotta fun to me (or the hub). So yes, our boys lived quite the deprived childhood--at least, they will tell you so. (No matter that they've been overseas many times in their young lives, right?)

The hub's brother and his family live in San Diego, and we try and visit every couple of years to watch our beautiful niece grow (and to see the parents of this lovely child, of course). This time, we decided to head out to that "happy place" even though I had come down with some nasty crud the kid had given me. Full-blown fever, flu-like symptoms. Ugh. How could I say no? I should have. Next time, I stay behind!! Ooooofy. I was so sick, I couldn't enjoy it.

But everyone else did; and that was just fine with me. Yup, there's the kid with his Cali aunt.

The only thing on my bucket list from any Disney establishment has always been getting some "ears" with Rosie embroidered on them. Didn't find any that suited me, but, of course, I did find a pair for Bella.

She's still precious.
And still a brat.

Spring Has Sprung, Finally.

Alive and well!

Just been busy with the new "empty nesting" lifestyle. I've grown to enjoy it, on most days.

Hope all is well in your little kingdom.
