The Kid's Day

Congratulations to the kid on his confirmation. We are very proud that he chose to be confirmed in the church. Gee, his next sacrament will be, marriage??? Lordy. It was a beautiful day, perfect weather, wonderful company (the hub's brother flew in from San Diego to be the kid's sponsor) and a very special occasion. The bishop told us that our church had the largest confirmation class in the Nashville Diocese. There were over 160 kids being confirmed. Poor guy. It took quite a while to get everyone done. The kid and the Uncle were second to the last to get up there, I kid you not. The hub and I kept looking for them thinking perhaps they had high tailed it out of there when they saw the crowd. haha.

Afterwards, we went downtown to have his special dinner at The Melting Pot, a fondue restaurant. The kid had never been before; so it was really a lot of fun. Oh my gosh, were we stuffed. I keep telling everyone, if you go, get the salad and cheese fondue and desert. No MEAT!

We chose the S'more Chocolate Fondue. Ooooooof. It was absolutely out of this world. A couple of bites sufficed.

The sun was setting on the "Batman" building as we left, stuffed to the gills.

Needless to say, we didn't have any of the kid's red velvet cake that night! Ooooooof.

Congratulations kid. We love you very much.

that's a picture that I look forward to seeing in ETC!! Couple of weeks ago my niece made her first communion and there were 15 in her group and we were excited by that -- how proud you all must be!!

Congratulation to your kid, and to your family. I think celebrations like that are so important, keeping the family close :-)
