I found these lovely aqua cookies yesterday on one of my errand runs. I love this calming color, even on a cookie. Funny, for one who has never been a big fan of "blue," I sure am getting a lot of it lately.
It's hard to keep up with my likes and dislikes lately. Call it hormonal.
This morning, I took mom's dog Frankie in to get a bath. I swear, that dog not only looks like a pot bellied pig but acts like one too. He just rolls around in the dirt like one. In actuality, he's a corgi mix that mom feeds way too well. "A bite for me, two bites for you." He almost weighs more than her. Well, not quite, but you get my gist. Of course, my taking Frankie away has thrown mom into a tail spin--something out of the ordinary and her baby is missing. When I got back from dropping Frankie off, she was at the front door looking out, like she was again waiting for Regis (Philbin). She was angry with me. Couldn't understand what I did with her dog.
So after doing my best at telling her he would be back in a couple of hours, I just asked if she wanted to sit on the front porch for a bit. That finally made her smile, and we sat for a spell until she was ready to go back down to her place. Phew. Sometimes it's difficult to explain things to her. Not a clue as to what I am saying to her. Other times, she's fine. She has been perfect since I got back from Riverside, but taking the dog in for a bath has thrown her for a loop. Live and learn. No more baths at the vest for your Frankie!
While she sat, I put my little birds on the porch topiaries.
These little fellers are some of my favs.
I love this vintage looking post card. I think I love the ribbon used on it even more. It's almost silk-like.
Today, I'm going to get some more geraniums to put in front. I've been having a hard time finding any. Well, actually, I've only been to one store. I'm sure they're still available. I'll be kicking myself in a week or so when it turns hot and I don't want to go out and water. We've been spoiled by this nice dry weather here in middle Tennessee!
Tootles.

This looks so festive! And the photo of your mom is truly beautiful.
I love geraniums - all colors but especially red. They just look like home. Put one of those water bulbs in them and you won;t have to go out in the heat.
I love how you decorate for all the holidays - which reminds me I forgot to get out my little American flags. We did have hamburgers, though. Lovely photo of your mom on the porch. xoxox
