Easter Prep

I can hardly believe that Easter is right around the corner. Not only that, but we're leaving for Riverside on Saturday! Geesh Louise, I thought we weren't leaving until next weekend! Lordy me. (The kid took this picture of the crane yesterday afternoon out in back.)

And so, I've been busy filling my muck buckets with junk to take down South with us. Not only that, but since we will be gone the entire week and coming home on Easter Eve, I've been getting the house in order for Easter Sunday. I've ordered all the traditional Ukrainian foods we eat on Easter and I think I have everything pretty much under control. Famous last words.

I finally brought all my pretty things out and scattered them about. Boy, Easter comes early this year.

I did these years and years ago. I should have put a little wax on them because I put this bowl by the fountain and it's splattered them! Ooooooof. Oh well, I kinda like the look. No worries.

Some non-traditional Easter eggs that the kids and I have made over the years.

And bunnies bunnies, everywhere.

I always get the most enjoyment out of setting up my little Easter bunnies and bears (and doggy) each year. Truthfully, I don't do much girly stuff, but I have to admit, I love these little fellows. I started this collection when my niece, Madeleine, was a baby and I bought her a Muffy Bear. Being partial to bunnies, I had to get Muffy's friend Hoppy for myself. The friends and family continue to grow.

Peter Rabbit in all his glory.

His friend.

More friends.

And someone's dog.

Last year, like in the summer time, I found these three little egg holders. Three of them, together! I always like to collect things in sets of threes and I am lucky to have spotted these tucked way back in the sale corner. I put an emu, a goose and a chicken egg in each one and didn't like the look. I think little candies will be cuter. I just love the vintage look though, regardless what's in them.

I had found these tulips at the grocers a couple of days ago. I sure wish they lasted longer. They'll have to be thrown out before I go. I know the teenager won't keep water in the vase, and they like lots of water. I've enjoyed them while they've lasted though.

I'm looking forward to getting away for a bit. It's always good to get the batteries recharged every so often. Since I've only made three pysanky so far, I may take my supplies down with me. No, wait a minute, hold on, Ukie Easter isn't until April 27! I have another month. Sometimes it falls on the same Sunday as our Western calendar. Phew! I really didn't want to drag all that stuff down with us. I have enough junk to take! ha. I'm still planning on giving one away!

You know how many Easter decorations I have?---Zero. I am going to get Easter chocolate for my grandkids, though, and maybe a bunny or two if I can find them.

Oh, Rosemary, I am totally in love with every photo in this post! I love the lightheartedness of Easter -- I'm a bunny nut, too (and in fact am posting on Easter decorations and bunnies later today!) My pix won't be nearly so good as yours, which are divine. And the crane is a stunner. (heron?)Love the asparagus bowl with the egg. Oh, my!

Pet Miss Bella for me and have a lovely time in Riverside!

Thanks for visiting the Gypsy! I didn't know about salmonilla when those eggs were blown out -- I'm not sure it even existed then! But we all lived. Well, I did, but mom didn't die from salmonilla! Mr. Gyps isn't much of a climber -- the back of the sofa or window seat is about as high as he goes in most cases. Good thing. He wants to live!

I wish I could be going to Riverside with you:-) I know how much you love it there so I hope you have a fabulous week!! I so love all your Easter decorations...those eggs you made are just gorgeous. I'm having a hard time adjusting to the fact that Easter is so early this year...I'm use to it being around my son Shawn's birthday on April 12th! Anyway, have a great trip and have FUN! xoxo
