Birthday Thank You's

A big thank you to everyone for all their well wishes for my birthday. I turn 46 (yikes) at 7 p.m. tonight and I will be celebrating way into January. Let the festivities begin!

I feel so fortunate to have been given life for this many years, and I try not to take any day for granted. I have been blessed with a wonderful family, starting with my parents and my three brothers. I love them all dearly and I still miss my father, who I lost five years ago. With my brothers came my sisters-in-law, my three nieces, my nephew, my grand niece and two grand nephews. Dear, I do sound old now. Then came the hub who entered my life and has been by my side for over twenty years. He first gave me a whole other family to love, a mother- and father-in-law, three more brothers and a sister. And thus, later, I was given three more sisters-in-law, four more nieces and one more nephew, phew! Oh, and the hub also gave me the gift of motherhood. Two wonderful boys we have that I will cherish for the rest of my days.

And so you see, I have so much in my life that I should be celebrating every day (which I really do). But I especially look at my birthday as a time to reflect on my life and all that I have been given in love. Not only do I have my family but also many dear friends. Now my friends extend to my blogging community which goes way beyond blogging.

So, if you're out today and see a wonderful cupcake or a special dessert, get it. Eat it. Enjoy it. Enjoy your day like it's your birthday. Be frivolous, be silly and do something extra fun. I won't tell if you don't.

You know what I'll be doing. "I'm gonna party like it's my birfhday!"
