Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow?
According to Bud's ramblings, this shows that more winter is to come. An old-wives' tale out of his pocket says, "If you see a cardinal in the snow, there will be more winter to come--If you see a robin in the snow, spring is just around the corner." Well, here in Middle Tennessee, we have had our winter come and go intermittent with spring since December. Back and forth, back and forth. We're so mixed up down here, our crocus bloom and then they freeze, the grape hyacinth leaves are already full grown and hopefully are hardy enough to deal with this snow and we go day-to-day (sometimes hour-to-hour) with a coat, without a coat, with a sweater, with a shirt. What a bizarre winter. It's funny, now that I've become accustom to the warmer climate, whenever it turns a little chilly, you can hear me whining, "I don't want to wear no stinkin' jacket, whaaaaaaaaaa."
All the men have gone different directions today, all with one or two sleds in hand. The teenagers are off to the girlfriend's neck-of-the-woods, the hub and kid off to Lord-knows-where in search of a good hill. The last time the hub did this, he lost his glasses on a down-hill slope. I'm so happy he's still so young-at-heart. It keeps us all on our toes! I told mom that later, her and I were going to hit the snow in our waxed-up toboggan! We all giggled at that one!
P.S. These pics were taken by the kid this morning before I was even out of bed....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. It was nice to wake up with the snow swirling all around. It has stopped at the moment, but I believe we're supposed to get more later. Weeeeeee!
